***** Vista Driver Installation Instructions *****

We recommend installing Capwiz _before_ installing the unit.
This is because Capwiz 3.8.0.15 installs a necessary component
for this driver.  Installing Capwiz after installing this
driver will require a second reboot to avoid errors.

NOTE ON TECH SUPPORT:
We do not provide over the phone walk through on this guide.  The
procedure outlined here is complete.  Technical support will refer
you to this document.  Technical support can only help you with
specific issues, so if contacting tech support, please be prepared
to explain at exactly what stage you ran into a problem.


Customers who have already tried to install the WinXP driver
will find that it does not work and will have problems when
installing this new driver.  Follow the steps below in order
to resolve these problems.


1)	Start with the device plugged in.
2)	Right-click "Computer" and select properties, then select
	"Device Manager" in the left pane.
3)	In Device Manager, locate "Sound Video and Game controllers"
	and click the plus sign to expand the category.
4)	Locate the listing for the DVD Xpress DX2 and right-click,
	selecting to uninstall the device.  Select to delete the
	driver files as well.
5)	Once uninstalled, disconnect the device from your USB.
5)	Close Device Manager and then locate the file, remsvcs.reg
	in the folder with these instructions.  Double-click on the
	file.
6)	Confirm to make the changes and once they are complete, you
	should reboot the system.
7)	Once booted, reconnect the unit and continue with the
	instructions in the second half of this document (including
	the reboot at the end).


Installing for the first time

1)	Click Start-> Control Panel-> System and Maintenance-> System->
	Advanced System Settings-> Hardware-> Windows Update Driver
	Settings.  Select Ask Me Each Time I connect a new Device... and
	press OK.
2)	After extracting this archive, plug the DX2 into a USB port that
	is directly connected to the motherboard.  We strongly recommend
	against using a USB hub.  Note that the front ports on some PC's
	are also problematic.
3)	When prompted, select to install software for the device.
4)	If prompted, do not allow the system to connect to the internet
	to find drivers.  In some systems, this causes the drivers that
	were published for Windows XP to be installed.  This should not
	occur and it will cause problems if it does.
5)	Select to "Browse My Computer for Driver Software."
6)	Click "Let Me Pick from a list of Device Drivers."
7)	Click Have Disk and then Browse.  Navigate to the folder that
	contains these driver files.
8)	Select dvdxpressdx2 (or any file), listed in the folder.  Click
	Open, then click OK, followed by Next.  Once the installation
	completes, restart your computer.

POST-INSTALL FOR VISTA x64 USERS

***	Note that the driver cannot be installed on x64 without first
***	first turning off driver signature enforcement (this must be done
***	at EVERY boot if you want to use the DX2).  This is a nonstandard
***	configuration that is supported by neither ADS nor Microsoft and
***	is therefore only recommended for expert users.

1)	After installing this driver, it is necessary for Vista x64 users
	to run the following command (Capwiz must already be installed in
	order for this to be effective).
	Open an elevated terminal by going to Start-> All Programs->
	Accessories and right-clicking "command prompt" and selecting to
	run as administrator.
2)	Type in the following command:
		WINDOWS\SysWOW64\regsvr32 /s WINDOWS\SysWOW64\musproxy.ax
	This will correctly register the DirectShow filter component of
	the driver in the system.
